If you’re entitled to things (like hands and feet and food), there’s no reason to say thank-you.

three good questions
When you’re itching to give advice or other input, it helps to answer three good questions first: does it need to be said, does it need to be said now, and does it need to be said by me?

When you’ve been walking down the same street and falling in the same hole for a long time, it feels really good to start walking down a different street.
