enjoying people

When somebody really enjoys you, it feels like Christmas (which doesn’t happen very often either).  A lot of folks make believe they’re enjoying you, but every once in a while you run into the real thing, like I did yesterday.  She asked me a lot of questions about how I think and what I love and why, and she listened like it would be just fine if my answers took all afternoon.  It felt like she looked right past all the junk that I usually try to hide and gave me a glimpse of who I’ll be without it.

“[I]nwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16.
