against the storm

With so much pain and craziness and disaster and upheaval in the world, it's easy to slip into what-difference-can-I-make-anyway. I was slipping just this morning, when a big storm rolled through -- thunder and lightning and rain and hail. Right in the middle of it, one lone bird started to sing. That changed everything.

"She has done what she could." Mark 14:8

"And here in dust and dirt, O here/
The lilies of His love appear!"
Henry Vaughan
