strong wind

Sometimes power means big offices and fancy jobs, but there’s a more dangerous kind that you and I have, too. You get it every time somebody lets you down -- says hurtful words or ignores something that’s important to you or doesn’t live up to your standards. You can grab that power and set yourself up as judge and jury, but it’s a whole lot safer to let it blow away in the first strong wind.

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” Abraham Lincoln

“Father, forgive them. . . .” Jesus, from the cross (Luke 23:34)
