the hiding place

When bad and sad things are happening all around us, we need a hiding place. Sometimes we try to make a hiding place out of another person or another drink or keeping busy. Sometimes, though, we remember that we already have a hiding place in the God who weeps with us.

“‘O Jerusalem . . . [h]ow often have I longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you would not. . . .’ As He drew near, He saw the city and wept.” Luke 13:34, 19:41

Lord, the world seems flooded with bad and sad things. Please remind us over and over again today to keep choosing to hide under Your wings, You who weep with us.
