Words are powerful things, and the closer two people are, the more powerful the words get. That's why, even though you have no idea what you did last Wednesday, you still remember a comment one of your parents made decades ago. For better or for worse, those words are still alive and well. So you can't be too careful with your words. Something you say today might be around longer than you are.
